We are working to create rhythms of Mutual Aid where self-described needs are believed, sharing and asking for assistance is the norm, and investment in the community makes mutual aid easier. In addition to informal mutual aid through our community, we also have a resource sheet with information and connections to other helpful local organizations as well as a collective fund for helping our community access groceries and medical care.
Collective Fund
How it Works
If you consider yourself a member of the Wheaton community and find yourself in need of financial assistance in order to afford groceries or medical care, please consider filling out our Mutual Aid Financial Request Form.
As long as we have funds available, we give any community member who self-attests need and shows receipts up to $50 for groceries and up to $50 for medical care every month.
The only other thing we use this fund for is our annual domain costs and books for our library. See our monthly financial reports here.
