We do a variety of events during the Academic School Year to build our community. Anyone who affirms our Community Statement (found in our core document) is welcome! Check out our calendar for upcoming events here.
Every Tuesday evening, a Chroma member opens their space to all Chroma members to come hang out, do homework, or chill in their apartment. Similar to Wheaton College’s “in-nights," but with an explicit orientation to safeness for minorities.
Once a month, we gather in an apartment with friends and refreshments to watch a film that highlights minority voices and experiences. Sometimes it's more educationally focused, like Judas and the Black Messiah, other nights are more fun-focused, like Parasite.
Once or twice a semester, we do a field trip into Chicago to visit a cultural or historical site. In the past we've visited the National Museum of Mexican Art. We hope to visit palces like DuSable Black History Museum and Pullman National Monument in the coming years.
